Churches of the
Lincolnshire Wolds

The medieval chapel at Kirkstead On this tour you will visit some of the best of Lincolnshire’s small, hidden and little known parish churches dating from the early medieval period onwards and set within the Lincolnshire Wolds – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The tour will include such interesting buildings as the isolated Tudor brick church at Goltho, the outstanding Saxon Minster at Stow and the elaborate painted monuments at Snarford dating from 1582.

Also featured are a number of beautiful Georgian churches located in glorious settings, such at the Palladian church at Well set in its own parkland. Another treat is the unaltered pre-reformation church at Coates complete with its rood loft.

Several of the buildings we will visit, such as the medieval chapel at Kirkstead, are not generally open to the public. You will be accompanied throughout by one of our expert tutors.
