The Medieval World

This course provides an insight into the medieval world of England, its people and society. Together we will explore the great achievements of the medieval elite, merchants and builders but we will also experience the gulf that existed between the rich and the poor in both the town and countryside.

Lindum Heritage clients wallk up the main street or hollow way of North Elkington DMV The weekend will include visits to the remains of a now deserted medieval village, the magnificent early medieval Minster church at Stow and the parish church of St Edith at Coates; an evocative and rare survival of pre-reformation church architecture.

Back in Lincoln the great monuments of church and state come under our gaze with tours of the great cathedral, castle and the remains of the Bishops’ Palace.

During the Middle Ages Lincoln was widely acknowledged as one of the greatest and wealthiest cities in the kingdom; what better place for you to explore the extraordinary world of medieval England?

The cost of this weekend break is from £235, inclusive of accommodation.
