Lincoln & Lincolnshire

Lincoln is a hidden gem of a city which boasts a magnificent medieval cathedral (one of the best in Europe), the only Roman city gate still in use in Britain, a castle and medieval streets with important Norman buildings.

The City of Lincoln is a fantastic place for a weekend break and the surrounding countryside is beautiful and packed with historical and archaeological sites and buildings.

After an exciting day unearthing the secrets of history, there are plenty of places to unwind - Lincoln is a lively city, with an abundance of pubs, restaurants, high-street shops and an attractive marina area.

Looking up Lincoln's Steep Hill
Getting to Lincoln is easier than you might think; by train it's only some 2 hours from London's Kings Cross Station. By road the newly improved A46 link from Newark on the A1 makes the city more accessible than ever before.
