Lincoln is one of Britain's greatest historical cities and a pleasure to explore. Lincoln has always occupied an important place in history from its height as one of England's greatest medieval cities to its resurgence of Victorian industry.

Lincoln Cathedral, arguably the best medieval cathedral in Europe, towers above the city. As John Ruskin said "the cathedral of Lincoln is out and out the most precious piece of architecture in the British Isles." The Norman castle occupies an equally dominant position on the skyline and contains both an evocative Victorian prison, complete with unique separate-system chapel, and displays one of only four surviving original 'copies' of the Magna Carta.

As well as a private tour of the cathedral and castle we will explore the remains of the medieval bishops' palace and the city's important Roman monuments, including areas not normally open to the public. We will also have a curator led tour of Lincoln's new award winning archaeology museum.

The programme of activities is carefully planned to allow you plenty of time to pause and take in the view, as Lincoln is an uncrowded, relaxing and friendly city. Come and enjoy its hospitality
